The organisers have reluctantly decided to cancel the 2017 Event.
The Coalcliff to Stanwell Park swim has been held towards the end of March or early in April each year since 2001, organised and run by Helensburgh-Stanwell Park Surf Life Saving Club.
Until 2013, the Stanwell Park Ocean Challenge was organised by a small committee of Club members who were regular participants in ocean swims up and down the NSW coast. Their knowledge and experience was of great benefit in planning and running the event each year. These members have since decided to pursue other interests.
This year the Club does not have sufficient people resources to plan and successfully run the event swim and has reluctantly decided to cancel the 2017 swim.
Our resources will be reviewed next November and a decision made on whether to run the Ocean Challenge in 2018.
Helensburgh-Stanwell Park SLSC acknowledges and thanks the ocean swimming fraternity for their participation in the Stanwell Park Ocean Challenge since 2001.
