Huge congratulations to our newest LIFE MEMBER, Karl Weber.
Since joining in 2005 through winter swimming, Karl has become one of the Club’s most dedicated and reliable members. From nippers and patrols to training, maintenance and behind-the-scenes support, he’s had a hand in just about everything.
His record on patrol speaks for itself, 20 consecutive seasons with 100% attendance, clocking up more than 1,300 hours on the beach. A long-time Patrol Captain and recent Club Captain, Karl has always led from the front, including helping guide the Club to Surf Life Saving Illawarra Patrolling Club of the Year.
This season was no exception, stepping up to run training and ensuring our members were qualified, confident and ready to go, while also setting up new initiatives like UAV support for patrols.
Karl has also been a big part of the Club away from patrols, supporting his daughters through nippers and seeing them both go on to become active surf lifesavers.
Karl, thank you for everything you’ve given to the Club over so many years.
