We have a number of carnivals that our NIPPERS are more than welcome to attend. Its always great to see lots of Red, White and Blue competing and giving their best.
We would love to see a big roll up to our two local carnivals and the NSW State Champs in Queenscliff + North Steyne.
There are also two Sydney based carnivals that your NIPPER may want to attend during this summer holidays.

U13 and U14 Nippers,
You are invited to nippers leadership camp.
Your child is now one of the senior members of our Nippers. The purpose of the Leadership Camp is to foster a feeling of pride and responsibility within the participants. They will have the opportunity to refresh old skills, and get to learn new land and water based skills in the camp activities. Our focus will be on enhancing leadership skills whilst the nippers are busy having fun.
Throughout the camp, the Nippers will be supervised by members of the Water Safety Team and Junior Committee. If you would like to be part of the camp supervision, please contact a Junior Committee member.

It’s a big first day and here’s what’s going on:

For those who couldn’t make Sundays Pool Proficiency, tomorrow afternoon 20 October 2022 from 4:30 to 5:30pm we will be back at Helensburgh Pool to get as many of our Nippers through before we kick off the season on Sunday.
You must be registered to complete your proficiency. Registration is now open online.

To participate in point scores (both beach and water events) at Stanwell Park Beach all U6 to U14 must complete the pool swims prior to the start of the season.
To participate in Carnivals (both beach and water events) all U9 to U14 must complete the pool swim and open water swim prior to competing. U8’s only need to complete the pool swim to compete at Carnivals.

For a nipper in U8’s - U14’s to be eligible for a 1st , 2nd or 3rd place trophy, at least 75%* attendance is required.
Education & Skills Weeks - Nippers will commence at 9:00 am
Board training starts from the 20th October and runs during the season Sunday 7:30am - 8:30am
Ironperson events for U9 to U14 will start at 8:30 am on POINTSCORE WEEKS prior to Nippers starting at 9:00 am
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.

** The skill transition sessions at the end of the season are provided to assist with Nippers skills and progression into the next season’s program. Activities are primarily water focused working on surf skills, board handing/paddling techniques and age dependent transitions including foam to fibreglass board transition and short to long board transition. As always, the conditions are assessed for participants safety and competency and proposed activities adjusted accordingly to suit the conditions. If the beach is closed or surf conditions unsafe, activities will be focused on the sand and fitness. Skills transition sessions are for U9s and above.
